Trucker

Aka "Truck-man", "Monster-Truck" "Goober-Dog", etc..  Trucker represents our next step in boxers where we hope to incorporate  working trials along with our current conformation and health goals. After a few years of research, we decided that in order for us to continue working towards our "ideal, dream boxer" we needed to incorporate some of what the world has to offer.  We finally took the plunge in 2010, and though we had planned on importing directly from Europe, we could not pass up the opportunity to purchase "locally", as the lines were 2 that intrigued us.  Though he's an American-bred boy, Trucker's parents are German imports from strong working (schutzhund titled) and conformation champions (including a long line of Atibox winners), proof that beauty and brains can coexist. So far, he is living up to his pedigree's potential - solid, even temperament, a quick and eager learner; he also has conformation traits we were looking for (an inky black mask, beautiful rise of skull, a wonderful front-assembly, with an equally balanced rear, bone and substance while still retaining a clean silhouette). He is a very special addition to our home, and though he is just a young pup, we have hopes in the working-sport arena, and of course to dabble in conformation as well. We are very excited to watch our little Trucker-man grow and develop, and he continues to impress us daily. Charismatic and smart as a whip, this boy combines dashing good looks, an attention-demanding, devilish attitude, and a will to work... we couldn't ask for more.

One Year Update - We have officially had Trucker in our home for more than a year now and Richard and I are absolutely thrilled with him.  He continues to impress us with how he is coming along in schutzhund training, both in protection and obedience (we have been lagging in tracking).  He has fantastic drive, and really loves to work.  Conformationally, he continues to improve, and seems to be combining the best of both parents.  He is really turning heads of breeders from around the world.  While Trucker is very focused and drivey when on the field working with mom or dad, at home he is still a goofy, silly puppy, and still maintains that charm that drew us to him when he was just a young pup.  We are very proud of him!

*Stay tuned for future updates in all of Trucker's endeavors, and of course lots of photos and video too!*

  • Jan 2011 - our 2011 Goals with Trucker are to do his health testing, attain his BH (Begeilhund),  AD and ZTP, and continue preparing for his SchH1 title mid-late 2012.  Watch for updates!

  • Dec 7, 2010 - Happy First Birthday Trucker!
  • June 2010 - Trucker begins training with Joel Monroe (Big Valley Dog Training) in protection, w/ dad Richard on the other end of the lead.

  • Feb 23rd, 2010 - Though we had planned on leaving his ears natural, based on his ear-carriage, length of ear and ear leather, after much debate, Trucker was cropped. The crop was done by Dr. Marvin Frace of Marketplace Veterinary (El Dorado Hills, CA), a new Dr. for us, and from what we can tell, we are happy with the job done. His staff was very accomodating, esp. to his worried mother (moi!). Though it was a long day for both him and Katrina, Trucker was back to his normal self the following morning, and we are having a heck of a time trying to keep him "calm" while his stitches are still in. :)

  • Feb 15th, 2010 - Trucker's first "photoshoot" and video session made possible by Darlyne Duffey (Runway Boxers). See photos to the right & youtube video *HERE*

  • Feb 9, 2010 - Trucker head's north to his new home w/ the rest of the Soleil crew! Thank you to Colleen and Bill Gable, and momma Glock for allowing this wonderful boy to come home with us!
